I first saw Marc Johns' art about a year ago through my day job at Vox. He colored a few Post-its in praise of Vox and a mutual admiration society was born.
When I was thinking of reviving this here blog, I decided I needed original artwork for my banner and Marc was the first and only artist I considered. Things just keep getting busier over at Marc Johns HQ, as they rightly should, so I feel extraordinarily fortunate that he was available and willing to let me commission a custom art piece (If you're reading this post in a feed reader, please click through to check out the full-size banner.)
Every time I look at this I smile, which is kind of how his art goes.
Please visit Marc's blog and website and then buy something from his shop, or visit his MOO store to buy minicards, notecards, holiday cards and stickers featuring his art. You can browse through a bunch of his wonderful work here. Huge thanks again to Marc, and to the designer who actually implemented my custom design who wishes to remain anonymous.
Now that my blog is infinitely better looking than ever before, I'm feeling the pressure to write in it. Regularly. I know what to post to my Vox blog since I know who's reading it (for the most part - many friends and coworkers) but blogging here feels a little like throwing rocks into a big body of water. Let's see what I can make of that. Wish me luck.
