« Back to Don't Forget Cassettes
Me, sans makeup, with several cassette tapes. I've never thrown away a single 45, album, cassette, or CD that I've owned.
Tapes in the pic are all custom DJ tapes from 1991/92. Very hard to obtain back then (DJ mixes just didn't exist for sale). The colorful covers were done by me - one of the few people with access to a color printer. There are 3 "Tommy's Tunes" continuous mixes by Tom Johnson, one of the very very first internationally known DJs and a huge influence on popular club & dance music (we used to laugh about hearing stuff for months before it made it to radio). The other 2 ("Probe Mix" & "Mars FM Mix") are continuous mix tapes by local DJ Rob Gastelum (who I hadn't heard about in years - till his name appeared, a couple weeks ago, as guest DJ for a new theme night at a local club).
I think I need to listen to these (I have a player in my car) and relive my glory days!
